Indoor Drone Tours 2 Year Anniversary

Indoor Drone Tours celebrates two years as a company! What started in 2020 as an extension of Doola Creative Shop quickly grew into a company of its own. We’ve been a part of many exciting projects and expansions, and we’ve even developed new offerings for our clients. We’re excited to share all of the fantastic things we’ve accomplished in the last year.

The Evolution of Indoor Drone Tours

Indoor Drone Tours has grown and evolved immensely over the last year. In the company’s early days, we focused on contactless drone tours for residential realtors during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a lot of uncertainty in real estate at the beginning of the pandemic, and Indoor Drone Tours offered a way for buyers and renters to tour homes virtually. “We wanted to provide a new solution for the market and push the real estate industry forward by offering this new service,” Zach Dulla, CEO of Indoor Drone Tours, said.

Since then, we’ve expanded our offerings beyond residential real estate. We’ve filmed even more drone tours for office buildings, apartment buildings, hotels, businesses, commercial properties, and even sports-related events! Nowadays, our customers are 70% commercial real estate, 20% retail and hotels, and 10% residential real estate.

While our portfolio has evolved, so has our team. Our team has seen some significant growth over the last year! We’re all working remotely, with eight full-time employees and a total of 15 employees. While we still offer commercial and business tours across the United States, we’ve begun offering our residential drone tours to other parts of the country. In June of 2021, Indoor Drone Tours expanded to Colorado, now offering our full line of services in both Denver and Chicago.

More People Talking About Indoor Drone Tours

As the company has grown, so has our name recognition. First-person view drones have begun to take off, and more companies are using these types of videos in their marketing (even drones were used extensively in the trailer for The Kardashians HBO series!)

More people are starting to recognize just how valuable drones can be across any industry. The Chicago Sun-Times reported on Indoor Drone Tours and how we’ve impacted the midwest. We’ve been privileged enough to work with the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Fire, and even filmed at the Ryder Cup alongside Midwest Aerial Productions!

Ranging from sports to commercial buildings to luxury real estate, Indoor Drone Tours has provided exceptional marketing material across all industries in the Chicagoland area. The Chicago Sun-Times article also mentioned how drone footage of Germania Place (a historic building on the Near North Side) brought the Immersive Van Gogh Experience to Chicago for a 10 year sublease.

Indoor Drone Tours was featured across a few other media outlets within the last year, including GlobeSt.comRealtor Mag, and Denver7 news.

In an industry heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, many hotels use innovative marketing strategies to reach 2019 occupancy rates. One approach, in particular, is drone video. For Denver7, the news story focused heavily on hotel drone tours.

“Hotels, commercial real estate, office buildings, any type of venue or large building can use Indoor Drone Tours,” Zach Dulla, CEO of Indoor Drone Tours, says. “It just isn’t the same type of experience as photos and videos.”

Construction Drone Tours

In 2021, we began offering Construction Drone Tours for our clients! We combine indoor and outdoor drones to create captivating Before & After videos, Project Recaps, and Development Tours for these videos.

Indoor Drone Tours has partnered with several construction companies, including PEC, Perfection Group, Redmond, and Bear Construction, to name a few.

Construction drone tours are perfect for showcasing different projects. For example, we can add on additional shoot dates to capture progress as you build and truly show a project from start to finish! We’re excited to fly with more construction companies in 2022 and beyond.

The Rise of One-Take Drone Videos

One-shot, or one-take, videos have always held a special place in the cinema, but one-take drone tours started gaining a lot of traction in the drone community in 2021. After the viral “Right Up Our Alley” bowling video took the internet by storm, one-take videos began seeing mainstream views. The drone operator for that video (not affiliated with Indoor Drone Tours), Jay Christensen (@jaybyrdfilms), also had a hand in the drone footage used in Hard Knocks: The Dallas Cowboys HBO series.

Indoor Drone Tours began offering One-Take Drone Tours for Business Drone Tours. Compared to other methods, it’s the most creative virtual tour available for a business!

We filmed choreographed One-Take drone tours for several businesses, including Minnetronix, RentalMax, Top Tier Baseball, and Ditch Witch. FPV drones make these types of tours possible. They’re small, custom-built, and capable of flying at high speeds, making quick turns and precise movements throughout a facility.

These choreographed indoor drone videos are captivating, quick, and entertaining to watch. It truly shows how expert drone piloting, choreographing, and sound editing can combine to create a one-of-a-kind tour. The first-person perspective is unique and a type of experience only made possible by drones. We’ll continue to see these types of videos excel in documentaries, social media, tv shows, and other cinematic media.

It’s Been A Wonderful Year

It’s been a fantastic Year Two for the company, and we couldn’t be prouder of how far we’ve come! We’re continuing to service the entire United States in commercial tours and now offer residential services in both Chicago and Denver markets.

We want to give a huge thank you to everyone who’s supported and rooted for us in the last two years. Without our clients, team, friends, and family, we’d be nothing. For the rest of 2022, we’re looking forward to celebrating more wins with you all and hopefully sharing more news and developments with the company in the coming year!
